Lore is a word that holds memory, craft, and the hush of stories passed on. Its root is Old English lār—learning shared from one to another—and it stayed in language as wisdom, skill, custom, and tale. We chose Lore because that’s what our work keeps: the small meanings of a lived day.
At Lore, objects are storied. A journal remembers a season. A bookmark guards the sentence you paused at. A coaster gathers laughter marks. A mirror asks a question back. We design for ritual—pages, prints, magnets, totes—made to be touched, used, and kept. Each piece carries our painted world: quiet silhouettes, botanicals, watchful symbols, and the warmth of handwork.
Our promise is simple: useful beauty with memory inside—things that travel with you, gather your moments, and become part of your personal lore.
Poulomi Pallav Bose is the founder of Pouls.of.art and the artist behind Lore, an Art label where stories become objects you can use. A self taught artist, trained in literature and shaped by community practice, Poulomi paints the mythic everyday, women-centred narratives in watercolour, gouache, and mixed media, which take the form of everything you see at Lore.
Her visual language leans on memory, ritual, and everyday experiences. Through Lore, she builds functional keepsakes meant to be touched, carried, and kept, useful beauty with heart and soul.
Lore began as Pouls.of.art, A small studio where Poulomi’s paintings found their first voice. Sketchbooks turned into series, and certain motifs kept returning: mirrors, silhouettes, botanicals, watchful symbols. Friends asked for prints to keep, then postcards, then bookmarks to carry inside books and bags.
As Pouls.of.art grew into a community space for workshops and everything art, we needed a dedicated home for the objects. Lore is that home.
Lore is built from everyday stories: morning cups and late-night pages, creative ideas tucked into journals, a postcard left in a book, a photograph that changes meaning over time, rituals of companionship, traditions of self care.
We create keepsakes that catch these small experiences as they pass: a coaster that remembers laughter, a bookmark that holds a pause, a journal that gathers seasons. The art’s spirit stays, the form becomes useful.
Lore is that evolution: the artist’s language translated into useful keepsakes—made to be touched, lived with, and passed on.
